FAQ (Registration):

1. How to pay?
Fee is automatically calculated and payment is done within registration system using payment gateway similar to online shopping , topup via FPX (online banking), e-wallet or credit card.

2. I don't have FIDE ID.
This tournament is non-FIDE rated. FIDE ID is not required to participate this tournamenr. Just proceed and have fun playing.
But if you want to get your FIDE ID, you can register at https://malaysiachess.org/fide-id-application/

3. I don't have MCF ID.
No worry, although this is MCF National Rated tournament, MCF ID is not required to participate this tournament. Game with any player without MCF ID will be unrated. For this tournament, we have lucky draw for player with MCF ID, as such if you want to get your MCF ID, you can register at https://malaysiachess.org/mcf-id-registration/

4. Why do I need to join Tournament Whatsapp Channel?
Organizer will send any announcement and update at the tournament telegram. This include any answer to new question being ask, announcement about the changes, rounds pairing announcement, e-cert download readiness and procedure.

5. How to join the Tournament Whatsapp Channel?
There is Tournament Whatsapp Channel button at the menu on the registration page. Click , it will open the Whatsapp, join the channel.

6. After tournaments and I have downloaded the e-cert, can I leave the Tournament Whatsapp Channel?
Yes, you can. We do encourage to stay or join our main CMC Chess Telegram to receive any update of future tournaments by CMC Chess.

7. After registration, I can see my registration is confirmed, how do I check other registration?
At the menu, you can see Player's List button, click that.

8. I have made the payment, but I don't see my name in the player's list.

9. Why do the above happen?
After payment is made, you need to click Return To Merchants button, sometime it appear twice, click until the page that show your listing.

10. My payment failed, what to do?
You can continue clicking back to merchant until you back to the registration page, now you should be able to click Pay again.

11. My payment failed, and I didn't go back to registration page immediately. Now it showing under payment in progress.
You should be able to see Copy This link. Click that and it will copied back you registration. No need to retype.

12. After registration, can I withdraw?
Please bear in mind, we don't encourage withdrawal. However if you need be, we allow withdrawal before closing of the registration. However for the refund, we will charge RM5 per player to cater for payment gateway charge and administrative fee.

FAQ (Tournament Day):

1. Dressing is free and easy.
2. Be at the tournament area at 9:00 am on the event day
3. On the day of the event, no need to register. Verify your name at https://chess-results.com is sufficient. Do inform early if missing.
4. No need to bring chess set/clocks. Organizer provide
5. Notation not compulsory.
6. As this is MCF National Rated, the seeding will follow based on following
For Rapid : MCF National Rating, if 0 => FIDE Rapid Rating, if 0 => FIDE Standard Rating
For Blitz : MCF National Rating, if 0 => FIDE Blitz Rating, if 0 => FIDE RapidRating => FIDE Standard Rating

1. Time control is 20 minutes + 2 seconds increment for every move.

FAQ (Boys U12, Girls U12, Boys U18, Girls U18):

1. Age for each category will be based on age on 1 January 2024 12:01am. This will be calculated by the system using Mykad/Mykid number.
2. Time control is 20 minutes + 2 seconds increment for every move.
3. This is 7 rounds swiss-systems tournament. This means everyone will play all 7 rounds. When you lose, you still will be playing 7 rounds. Don't go home yet if you lose.

Playing Etiquette :

1. For player who unable to attend on the tournament day, please inform organizer by whatsapp at https://wa.me/60193167275 so that your name can be removed before the pairing generated.
2. Arbiters will announce the pairing for the round has been publish, you can check the pairing from Chess-Results. The link will be provided in the Tournament Whatsapp Channel.
3. Please be sitted at your board number, once you have check the pairing.
4. Phone and smartwatch must be off or silence (no vibrate). Phone and smartwatch must not be seen, must be kept in the pocket or bag. 
5. When the arbiter say you can start the game, you can shake hands (not compulsory due to religious or health concern), black player can press the clock.
6. If no opponent, press the clock and wait until opponent's time finished.
7. Once the game finished, please re-arrange back the pieces.
8. Both players to go to result desk to report your result.
9. After the result officer write the result, please verify it to ensure no mistake before leaving the result desk.
10. If time finished and no opponent, proceed to result arbiter and inform that you win because no opponent.
11. For players who is late and missed the previous round, please inform organizer by whatsapp at https://wa.me/60193167275 so that name not being remove for the next round.
12. For player who decided to go home, please inform result arbiter so that we can remove your name before next pairing generated.
